Imagining from scratch an interactive experience for a community of travellers who share their discoveries
A greek digital media agency commissioned Visual Prototyping e.U., my company, to design the UX of a Concept Travel Platform that they would develop for a greek early-stage startup. The platform aims to create a community of travellers who share their trips and get rewarded for presenting their discoveries to other travellers. The assignment included the development of all the key wireframes for mostly web but also a few screens for the mobile while having design and concept feedback rounds with stakeholders. Along with the core assignment and its deliverables, we developed the visual identity and the information architecture and refined the stakeholders’ initial concept to a great extent.
What we did
Our team consisted of me and my sister, Konstantina Angeletou. In the beginning, we performed thorough background research among different travelling platforms (from Expedia to AirBnB) which allowed us to understand in detail the options that travellers are given and the UX of other platforms. Thinking through the UX of the platform, it was inevitable that we had to go back, discuss with the stakeholders not only the design but also the business aspects that were coming up while designing. Our contributions to the business model included defining for example, a user flow for booking a holistic travelling experience, proposing smart ways to promote services out of travellers’ stories and a system to reward the community members who shared exciting stories.
Konstantina did the most of the wireframes while I provided the creative lead and supervision, the involvement with the stakeholders and generation of business ideas. You can see a brief description of our approach in our Behance post. Project is currently under development.
